The 4510 Standard Duty Deadlatches offer adaptable traffic management during and post business hours. This series features a reverse key turn while the bolt is held back, retaining the bolt to facilitate two-way traffic in hospitals, banks, stores, and other buildings needing free entrance at specific times and exit-only at others. These deadlatches can be interchanged with any MS1850A or MS1850S Deadlock of the same backset and faceplate shape, without stile modification. However, they do not provide the same peak security level as the MS Deadbolt. The lock case is made of steel with corrosion-resistant plating and is available in four cylinder backsets: 7/8 In., 31/32 In., 1-1/8 In., or 1-1/2 In. The all-metal latch bolt has hardened steel internal pins, and handing is reversible without special tools. An all-metal auxiliary bolt deadlocks the latch bolt to prevent 'loiding' or case-knife entry. The standard strike is 4902-01 for flat jambs where doors close flush or nearly flush. Other strike options are available. The latch bolt can be retracted using a key or handle, and to keep it retracted, push it in and secure with a reverse key turn. It uses any standard mortise cylinder with an MS cam. Each unit is individually boxed with a strike and machine screws for mounting, with cylinders, paddles, or handles available at extra cost.
